What Is Neurolens?

Whether you’ve heard about Neurolenses from your eye doctor, or you’re stumbling upon this information for the first time, Dr. Tavel Family Eye Care is thrilled to share additional information on this visual solution. As a Neurolens provider, we applaud you for taking the first step toward addressing your challenges. Let’s learn more.

Are you a Neurolens® Candidate?

Do you get headaches? Eyes that feel tired or dry? Pain in your neck and shoulders? Bouts of dizziness? Do these symptoms tend to get worse towards the end of the day? Do they tend to correspond with long periods of using a computer, tablet, smartphone, or even reading? If this describes you, you definitely aren’t alone; and like many others, you’re probably wondering why. Your eyes could be the problem, and Neurolenses could be the solution.

What Is Neurolens®?

Neurolens provides specialty lenses that are designed to provide relief for people who suffer from headaches, neck pain, eye fatigue, dry eyes, light sensitivity, and dizziness.

Inspired by a breakthrough discovery linking optometry and neurology, Neurolenses are designed to bring the eyes back into comfortable alignment. To do this, Neurolenses incorporate a technology called “contoured prism,” which intelligently places the correction in the lenses where it’s needed most. They are premium lenses, and as such come standard in high-quality materials and with high-quality Anti-Reflective coatings.

Neurolenses are the world’s first and only prescription lenses that add a contoured prism to treat the headaches, neck/shoulder pain, and eyestrain that more than half of American adults complain of when using digital devices, reading, or doing detailed work.

Vision Must Evolve Beyond 20/20

At least 2/3 of people experience the symptoms of eye misalignment, and that number grows as we shift to remote working and learning. When the eyes are not aligned, the visual system must work constantly to compensate for the misalignment. This can put stress on the trigeminal nerve – the largest and most complex nerve connected to the brain, and the one responsible for head and neck sensations. The smallest misalignments can cause painful symptoms, and even small prism corrections can provide dramatic relief. In a study concerning Computer Vision Syndrome, 100% of patients suffering from symptoms of Computer Vision Syndrome had a positive response to treatment with Neurolenses.

How do I find out if I’m a candidate for Neurolenses?

Anyone who spends a lot of time on a computer, doing detailed work, or reading and experiences symptoms of eye strain, chronic headaches that do not respond to other treatments, and neck and shoulder pain can benefit from Neurolens. These lenses are customizable for every patient and are available in any prescription. They’re even a great solution for contact lens wearers or patients that don’t have a prescription at all.

Dr. Tavel can help you determine whether Neurolens is the right solution for you. During your eye exam, we will use a two-step process to make this determination:

  • Your optometrist will evaluate the frequency and severity of your symptoms.
  • If you’re a potential candidate, we will refer you to our Zionsville location to clinically measure the amount of eye misalignment using a diagnostic device called the Neurolens Measurement Device, or NMD. This diagnostic test takes minutes at no additional charge to you, and the information gathered will help your eyecare provider create a complete visual solution to comprehensively address your unique needs.

You can start your journey towards relief by taking the Neurolens test, which is a one-minute online evaluation that will tell you if you’re a potential candidate.

Relief is in sight. Take the test and schedule your next appointment online at drtavel.com.
