Dr. Steven Ison began his career as an optometrist in 2017 and has been practicing at Dr. Tavel since 2023. Dr. Ison is a floating doctor and practices at many of our 24 Indiana offices. Dr. Ison graduated with a BS in Biology from Purdue University, and a Doctor of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry. He is an expert in ocular disease and is AOA and IOA certified.
When asked why he enjoys working at Dr. Tavel, Dr. Ison said, “I enjoy the sense of community with both the optometrists and patients in the Indianapolis area.”
In his free time, Dr. Ison enjoys spending time with his wife, Ellen, and their two dogs. He also likes to play soccer, basketball, video games, and work out.
