Dr. Jennifer Houseknecht began her career as an optometrist in 1996 and has been practicing at Dr. Tavel since then. She practices at our Elkhart, IN office. Dr. Houseknecht graduated with a BA in Biology from Valparaiso University, and a Doctor of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry. She is an expert in ocular disease and is AOA certified.
When asked why she enjoys working at Dr. Tavel, Dr. Houseknecht said, “Dr. Tavel is a great place to work because it’s family-owned and family-oriented. Patients needs and expectations are the first priority. We also have an amazing staff that works together as a team to provide our patients the best experience possible.”
In her spare time, Dr. Houseknecht enjoys planning and going on Disney vacations. She has also seen every episode of The Office at least 5 times and can quote it. -” Catch you on the flippity flip.”
