Dr. Jamz Porzio began his career as an optometrist in 2014 and has been practicing at Dr. Tavel since then. He practices at our Lafayette Road location in Indianapolis, IN. Dr. Porzio graduated with a BM in Music Education from Mercyhurst University, a MM Music Education from State University College at Fredonia, and a Doctor of Optometry from The Ohio State University. He is an expert in glaucoma and is AOA and IOA certified.
When asked why he enjoys working at Dr. Tavel, Dr. Porzio said “I love the team atmosphere and that the business itself is not content to ride its own coattails or simply keep up with the status quo. Dr. Tavel makes me cheer for me.”
Dr. Porzio is currently learning Spanish and is on his own healthcare journey, recently losing 40 pounds and building muscle. He is proud to be able to do weighted hip bridges at 465 lbs for 8 repetitions.
