{{{image-534}}}Certain glasses compliment certain types of faces…this is something I knew before working at Dr. Tavel Family Eye Care as I have worn glasses most of my adult life but I have learned that there is much more fashion and logic behind this fact.
Working at Dr. Tavel I have been able to see and try on many of the hot fashions in glasses and lenses. This is always fun but I have to remember that I have a round face and certain styles better fit my face than others. Rectangular and narrow styles fit best for those with round faces as they make your face appear longer and thinner. So I want to avoid round frames as they make my face look rounder.
You don’t have to lose style just to fit a frame with your face though. A person with a diamond shaped face should sway towards the “cat eye” look for frames (an up and coming trend) and avoid narrow frames, as they draw attention to the narrow eye line.
For oval shaped faces, square frames may compliment you rather than extra large frames. Trying a rimless rectangle (like a Sarah Palin look) is definitely something to consider.
{{{image-535}}}People with square shaped faces will flatter their face with oval and round glasses rather than square shaped glasses or glasses that have a bold color on the bottom of the frame.
The general rule in choosing eye glasses that will flatter your face shape is to buy eye glasses with a frame shape that offsets the shape of your face. New styles come out each season like the “Geek” look or vibrant colors. Dr. Tavel Family Eye Care is home to many of these hot looks for instance Axebo and Laguiole frames have bright colors on the temples with frame shapes to fit many faces.
So let’s go frame our faces!
