Dr. Melissa Lewis began her career as an optometrist in 2017 and has been practicing at Dr. Tavel since 2023. She practices at our Elkhart, IN office. Dr. Lewis graduated with a BS from Purdue University, and a Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry. She is an expert in macular degeneration and glaucoma and is AOA and IOA certified.
When asked why she enjoys working at Dr. Tavel, Dr. Lewis said “Dr. Tavel is an authentic and genuine company that truly believes that every Hoosier deserves affordable vision care. We provide imaging of the eye free of charge to all patients and this is a game changer in being able to provide comprehensive care to each and every patient. ”
In her free time, Dr. Lewis enjoys vacationing on cruise ships. She also enjoys photography and scrapbooking.
