Meet Dr. Morrow

Dr. Hillary Morrow began her career as an optometrist in 2008 and has been practicing at Dr. Tavel since 2023. She practices at our Anderson, IN and Fishers, IN offices. Dr. Morrow graduated with a BS in optometry from Indiana University Bloomington, and a Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry. She is an expert in ocular disease and contact lenses. She is AOA and IOA certified.

When asked why she enjoys working at Dr. Tavel, Dr. Morrow said, “Dr. Tavel allows me to have a great work-life balance. I get to alternate weekend and weekday days off which allow me to go to Farmer’s Markets and activities with my family on Saturdays, but I also have a day off during the week for appointments and business obligations. I also love mission of Dr. Tavel and how we utilize the latest technology to be the most skilled doctors. We have the Optos machine, which provides retinal images to diagnose disease, included with every eye exam and it’s not an extra upcharge. We also take ALL insurances so patients don’t have to worry when they switch providers because we take everything. As a patient, I know how frustrating that can be and I am thankful we can help everyone!”

Dr. Morrow’s core values are faith, family, and freedom. She believes in a healthy mind, body, and spirit. On her lunch break, you will find her heating up a batch of homemade soup with healthy nutrients and hitting the gym for a workout. She ran the Chicago marathon in 2014 and likes to keep in shape. When she is relaxing at home, she likes to work on puzzles. During the pandemic, with all the extra time on hand, she rediscovered her love of jigsaw puzzles. She likes to work on them while listening to Crime Junkie podcast and other true crime shows.

“Ultimately, I believe in the service of helping others. I’m trained to help people see better by utilizing instruments and technology to diagnose eye disease and prescribe glasses, contacts, and medications. But at the root of all I do, it’s about helping people. Most of the time it’s what I’m trained to do, though frequently someone shares some emotional vulnerability and I’m here to help, listen, and guide them. I feel privileged that I’m placed in a position to help others see better and live their best life.”
